So often a person sees another person's success and wishes for the same to happen to them but is not willing to put in the work and the dedication required. Or sometimes the desire is there to put in the effort, but the effort falls short because the person is too easily discouraged.

I think one of my faults is that I am too easily discouraged when I don't reach a goal as quickly as I had hoped. It's not that I don't want to put in the effort. I do put in the effort, but misjudge how much effort was actually needed. This quote reminds me that if I really want to succeed, I've got to stick with my goal through thick and thin.
